About me
I have dedicated 24 years to education, including six years as a first- and third-grade teacher and the past 18 years as an elementary school librarian, where I inspire a love of reading and lifelong learning in my students. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. I am an active leader in the South Carolina Association of School Librarians, and have contributed to numerous committees, including the Picture Book Awards, Children’s Book Awards, Technology Committee, and Member-at-Large, and have also served as a committee chair.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time reading, exercise, and traveling plus spending time with my wonderful husband, three amazing boys, and my tortoise, Shelly.
